Maintenance and Cleaning

In order to avoid safety hazards, if the power supply cord needs to be replaced, this must be done by Bosch or by an after-sales service centre that is authorised to repair Bosch power tools.

At least once a year a technical inspection of the dust extractor must be carried out by the manufacturer or someone who has been trained (e.g. to check for filter damage, to check that the dust extractor is tight and that the control unit is in perfect working order).

In addition to this, the effectiveness of the filter must be inspected at least annually in accordance with EN 60335-2-69, 22.AA.201.2. National requirements may also necessitate more frequent inspection.
If the filter is no longer deemed effective, it must be replaced and the test must be repeated.

  • All parts that may have come into contact with the hazardous substances must be considered contaminated.
  • Vacuum, wipe down and seal the outside of the dust extractor thoroughly before removing it from the area containing the hazardous substances.
  • Only clean, dismantle and perform maintenance on the dust extractor if this can be done without endangering yourself or other persons. Wear personal protective equipment for cleaning and maintenance tasks. Undertake the work in a well ventilated room.
  • First clean the outside of the dust extractor before dismantling it.
  • All parts of the dust extractor that cannot be adequately cleaned must be disposed of in impermeable bags. Please observe the applicable regulations for the disposal of such waste.
  • Clean the maintenance area after completing the work.

The suction power is dependent on the condition of the filter. Therefore, the filter should be cleaned regularly.

If the flat-pleated filter (28) becomes damaged, replace it immediately.

  • Loosen the two locking screws (38) and push the closing (19) flap latch downwards.
  • Pull on the closing flap (18) and open the filter cover (39).
  • Hold the flat-pleated filter (28) by the supports and take it out from above.
  • Use a damp cloth to remove any dust and dirt that accrues around the closing edge of the filter cover (39) when removing the flat-pleated filter (28).
  • Insert the cleaned (or a new) flat-pleated filter (28), ensuring that it is positioned correctly and securely.
  • Close the filter cover (39) (you should hear it click into place).
  • Push the closing (19) flap latch up again and tighten both locking screws (38).

Wipe the container (1) from time to time using a non-abrasive off-the-shelf cleaning product and leave it to dry.

Make sure that the fill level sensors are cleaned (40) occasionally.

  • Open the catches (13) and remove the top part of the vacuum cleaner (12).
  • Clean the fill level sensors (40) using a soft cloth.
  • Put the top part of the vacuum cleaner (12) on and close the catches (13).
